Kindness of Strangers

On the may to USC this morning, Nick and I were looking for a gas station on
Burbank Blvd. before we got on I-5 south. Just before getting on, we spotted a gas station and after 5 minutes of maneuvering, we got there. But, it was a Costco gas station and we are not members. It was a damn frustrating moment since we still had 1 hr of driving in LA traffic. I decided to ask the lady in front of us if she would swipe her Costco card for us. She did. We were very happy and touched too by this kindness in such a seemingly impersonal city. Thanks, ma'am, it's greatly appreciated.
