This morning I woke at the San Clemente State park camp ground to a misty sunrise. My sleeping bag, a Marmot down bag was still partially damp from the day before but I had used my bivy sack. Coastal camping means dealing with morning condensation and I'm finding out in a hurry that down bags are way less forgiving than hollow fill. When down gets wet, it clumps together and you lose a lot of heat. The hollow fill retains the heat and dries quickly.
We'll be staying at the home of a friend tonight in San Diego so hopefully the bag will dry out some more.Posted by Nick at November 03, 2002 09:44 AM
