BootBus Backfiring

It all started so innocently...after every mountain, the bus would backfire. It is not a young bus, so I didn't think too much of it and it had just worked it's arse off going up. I thought of them as "dry heaves" - well earned at that.

But now, it seems to be backfiring/dry heaving at every opportunity. When we are going from 1st to 2nd, 3rd, to 2nd. Just trying to get going. Why? I have no idea...Is this bad? I hope not. Chris, could you call Tom and tell him and find out if we are in danger? Then post results here.

In the meantime, Nick and I are just about done for the day...back to UCSD tomorrow since most of the buildings were locked on Sunday when we passed through.

Tom said it wasn't really anything to worry about. It could be a number of things, such as the carb being too rich, or you may be giving it too much gas as you're shifting.

Either way, it's not something to worry about if it's running smoothly in 4th. Some minor adjustments and tweaks when you get back and it should be fine.
