BootBus - BootsnAll on the Road...

Made it home

Jen and I made it back to Eugene around Midnight Monday. The Bootbus preformed admirably and I am thankful to be back.

Tom (the VW guy) fixed our clutch for $55. The clutch cable had broken, so he replaced it and we are good to go. Chris and I drove the bus to do our laundry this morning and all appears to be good with our new clutch cable.

Clutch cable? Well duh!!

What the hell else could it have been? It only takes 30 minutes to replace it (slightly longer if you are me) and all sensible '71 VW bus owners carry an extra. (and a fan belt, and a accelerator cable, and extra 30wt.oil)

You went through a lot of hassle and waiting around for nothing. I can't understand why that shop in Marin didn't just fix it for you then and there. What a bunch of maroons! (this points out another rule of thumb: shops with too many cars waiting for service are shops to avoid.)

OK, now the next time you have trouble with your '71 bus, get in touch with someone who actually HAS ONE and was driving busses back when you guys were not old enough to drive. Such as myself.

Bozo heads!

who is this asshole?
I see his posts and I can't quite believe it. I rant about things.....with good reason. What we have here is a terminal jerk-off flooding the place with his diatribe that makes no sense to anybody normal. I'm not normal, but EVEN I can see that you, Sean, are just trying to convey a small quip/story about what is going on. For Christ's Sake, Man (Joe Erhlich) visit a whorehouse.....in leiu of that- smother yourself.
This is the kind of involved malcontent that talks to his cat.
How long, O Lord, how long?
I'm not sure that I can stomach this sort of nonsense mush longer.

Who fucking says: Bozo Head?
Does that make sense?
What the hell is that?
Was he terrified by clowns at an early age?

*I* am the one who 'is that asshole'.

Sounds to me like brandondane@yahoo.com lost his sense of humor quite awhile ago.

That's a darn shame.

You need a time-out, Mr. Poopy-Pants
(Who would name their child "Brandon"?)

I prefer to be called: Mr. Poopy Pants Mouth....thank you.
Jesus Christ, do you go to work talking like that?
But, you're right, Joe Erhlich, I DID lose my sense of humor some time ago.
I used to be an extrovert. Now, I am an Introvert on par with a psychotic hermit.
THESE are the reasons that I cannot abide your tripe. AND, I still believe that you should visit a whorehouse or smother yourself.
I remain-
CRAZED AND HELL-BENT ON THE WORST KIND OF INFAMY,

BD,

Mate, I love you... but chill out a bit on this one. Joe is absolutley correct. Our VW guy was appalled that the clutch cable was not changed by the guys down south. So Joe's comment about "What the hell else could it have been?" is spot on.

Posted by: Sean on June 21, 2002 08:56 AM

So, when he called you a "Bozo-Head," that was OK, too?
Certainly, that can't be the type of limp wristed approach that you people take to things....can it?

Posted by: Brandon Dane on June 21, 2002 09:09 AM

Boy, both of you guys have way too much time on your hands...;-)

Sean, I'm glad it's fixed, but I am surprised at Colby for not replacing the cable. He came highly recommended by a VW van owner who had used him several times before. But let's also remember that your VW guy had told you to get a cable that was the wrong year of your van.

At the end of the day, we made it home safe and the bus is now fixed. That's all that matters. And I'm demonstrating a poor use of my own down time by bothering to add to the drivel above. I'm just glad it's fixed and you don't have to do the start stop, push reverse, or me push starting it up a hill on the 5. :-)

B,

Joe wasn't referring the "bozo-heads" to Sean, but to the guys who were misdiagnosing the bus. Thanks for stickin' up, but Joe's on the level, he's cool.

You could be right, but I'll never admit it.

I saw a cool T-shirt the other day- it doesn't EXACTLY describe me, but it's close. It read:

I SPEND MY MONEY ON BOOZE, WHORES, AND WEED- THE REST I WASTE.

Posted by: Brandon Dane on June 21, 2002 10:35 AM

that last post was to Jen- "you to have too much time on your hands."
